“Belgravia: The Next Chapter” unfolds in 1871, approximately three decades after the events depicted in the 2020 limited series. The original series, written by Julian Fellowes (known for “Downton Abbey” and “The Gilded Age”) and based on his novel, serves as the backdrop.
The new series, developed and written by the highly acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Helen Edmundson (known for “Dalgliesh” and “Mary Magdalene”), narrates the romantic tale of Frederick Trenchard. As the third Lord Trenchard, Frederick finds himself entangled in a love story with Clara Dunn, a newcomer to London society.
Unbeknownst to Frederick, his birth is the result of an affair between his mother Susan and the deceitful John Bellasis. A troubled childhood has left Frederick grappling with deep insecurities, presenting challenges in his courtship and marriage to Clara.
