In Los Angeles, 1983, the young guy Franklin loses a considerable amount of money when he bet on his favorite fighter “El Oso”. To avoid trouble Franklin begins to sell crack and hopes that he will have time to earn the right amount of money. At the same time, a different storyline develops. The fighter “El Oso” receives a proposal to earn easy money. He agrees to the work without even getting acquainted with what he needs to do. The athlete begins to engage in a crime that can ruin his life. In parallel, the CIA officer Teddy McDonald loses his partner because of drugs. The guy dies from an overdose, not having completed the important task. After receiving the deeds of his deceased comrade Teddy begins his investigation.
